My study buddy can prove to be a bit of a distraction.

Welcome to my page! My name is Stephanie and I’m an elementary teacher living in the heart of BC- Vanderhoof, British Columbia. I’ve been teaching since 2000. I spent the first ten years of my career teaching high school English in several different communities within our district but I transitioned to elementary after having children.

Although they’re both in high school now, it was a wonderful experience to work at the same school that my children attended. Now they are in grades 9 and 11 and expanding their horizons and my husband and I expand ours as grad students with the University of Victoria.

So what made someone who struggles with all tech decide to apply for a Masters of Educational Technology? I’ve become very passionate about digital portfolios over the past several years and I want to learn more about how to use them to change the way I assess learning in my classroom – and out of it!
